Book Reviews - What I've Read Recently
Hey everyone! Welcome back to the blog, and welcome to today's post. Today I'm going to be talking about the books I've read in the past couple months and my thoughts on them - Let's get into it.
Other Words From Home - Jasmine Warga : This book is about a young Syrian refugee named Jude who travels to America with her family. This book is written in lyrical style, which is was actually done really well. This book follows Jude as she starts a new school, and starts to find out how she fits into this new "home". It's so beautifully written and I've re read so many times.
Rating - 4.5/5
It Ends With Us - Colleen Hoover : This book is so good. It's about a 20 year old named Lily, who is opening a flower shop in Chicago. She grew up in a abusive household, and this book has to do with how that has affected her now and her current relationships. I definetley cried during this book, it just is written in way it tugs on your heart strings. It touches on some heavy topics, but it does have a very sweet happy ending witch I love.
Rating - 5/5
I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter - Erika Sanchez : This book is about a girl named Julia who is struggling with the fact that she doesn't meet her families expectations. That perfect daughter was her sister Olga, who died in a car accident. This book follows her as discovers more about her sisters path and finds herself. This book does touch on some themes on mental health. I absolutley adored this book, and it's probably one of my favorites.
Rating - 6/5
Sense and Sensebility - Jane Austen : This book is classic, and while it took me a while to get through it, the characters were really funny and I really enjoyed it.
3.5/5 - for a book in general
4.5 - for a classic
Atomic Habits - James Clear : This book is a non fiction self development book about forming habits and the science behind it. I found this book very helpful and interesting, and I would 10/10 reccomend it for anyone.
